Los Angeles Major Airports

  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) – The Los Angeles International Airport is considered within the top ten for busiest airports in the United States. It is about 16 miles west of downtown Los Angeles, and features most major airlines for commercial flights, as well as private jet services. With U.S. Custom Services available here, many international travelers frequent this airport.
  • Long Beach Airport (LGB)– The Long Beach Island Airport is by far one of the largest executive airports within the LA area. This is one of the few private airports in the area that offer both commercial flights and private jet services. It is only about 23 miles from downtown LA, but with LA traffic, it can take up to two hours of driving distance. Only a few major airlines offer flights to and from here, with Jet Blue being the largest major operating airline.

Los Angeles Private Airports

  • Van Nuys Airport (VNY) – The Van Nuys Airport is the main hub for corporate travel. It is located just north of the Hollywood Hills and generally serves the communities of Beverly Hills and northwest LA. Many celebrities travel to and from this airport as it is the primary choice for Hollywood. It is one of the more busier smaller airports with the most takeoffs and landings out of all of the private airports in the LA area.
  • John Wayne Airport (SNA) – John Wayne is another major corporate airport in Santa Ana, CA. The location is what draws frequent flyers to this airport, but weather can pose a problem due to the smaller runways. It is one of the closest airports to Disneyland, the Angel Stadium of Anaheim, and other well-known tourist spots.
  • Bob Hope Airport (BUR) – The Bob Hope Airport is in close proximity to Griffith Park and Hollywood. It is located about three miles northwest of the central business district of Burbank, CA – hence, why many corporate travelers fly in and out of here. However, it is known as the least busy out of all executive airports within the area. Because of this, there is seldom traffic issues or delays.
